May 2005 - Dartmeet
Two mums, four dads and six children braved the elements and set off from Dartmeet to enjoy a dry days rambling along the Dart.
The adults stayed dry throughout but even before the official start of the walk three children had had their wellies emptied and various items of clothing changed!
We walked uphill through fields and then crossed the road in to Brimpt's farm territory.
Lunch was spent climbing a very large tree and swinging on a rope swing. The rest of the walk was along both sides of the river, finally arriving back at Badger's Holt.
There were two sets of stepping stones and a beautiful ancient clapper bridge. The last hour or so of the walk seemed to involve a contest to become the muddiest or wettest child in Dartmeet. It was a close run thing.
Ice creams were enjoyed by all at the finish!
