On Sunday 11th September 11 adults, 13 children and one dog set off from Grenofen bridge.
Despite torrential rain the day before the sun was smiling on us all. We walked vertically uphill to West Down where the bracken was taller than most of the children. We then walked back down hill through the woods to Double Waters where we camped for our lunch break.
We had an easy walk back to Grenofen bridge along the river – the children enjoyed exploring the rock formations cut by the gushing waters and the old mine shaft which many children managed to crawl through.
At the end shoes and socks were off and a good paddle in the river was had by children and dog.
