November 2005 - Pound Corner
We were very pleased to find a dry day for this walk after several days of torrential rain. We set off from Pound corner and headed for the long footpath winding between fields towards Uppaton farm. The next stage of the walk was very interesting as the footpath passes through the garden of Long Ash house. There were very friendly sheep and ponies and an enormous ornamental pond. Once we had crossed the road to reach open moorland the children found plenty of trees to climb and we had wonderful views over Dartmoor as we sat eating our lunch on the ridge. The route wound back across the moor to our Pound Corner car park.
